What I learnt in this BTN was that, New Zealand gets lots of earthquakes being on top of where the Pacific and Australian plates rub against each other. I also learnt that there is an area around the Pacific Ocean called the Ring of Fire. It is called this because most volcanoes that are still active occur in the ring. Finally, I learnt that tectonic plates are always moving at least a couple centimetres a year.
Two things I understood were that, earthquakes are scary because they are unpredictable, so they could happen at any time, anywhere. Another thing I understood was that sometimes earthquakes can be mild and unnoticeable and sometimes they can be bad.
A question I had was what are good ways to prepare for eathquakes?
